Amec Foster Wheeler (Nuclear Canada) is a rapidly growing engineering, nuclear safety and technical analysis company. We provide specialized services primarily to the power generation industry. Headquartered in downtown Toronto, we have over 500 staff, and we provide technical solutions to clients world-wide. Our work involves design engineering in all disciplines, and performing safety and engineering analyses using state-of-the-art engineering and analysis software, and interfacing with other engineering disciplines. Staff provide technical support to operating nuclear plants.

 

Field Team Leads – Nuclear

 

Overview

We have a committed a sizable group of engineers who provide significant on-site support of large-scale engineering programs and projects for both operating units and units undergoing refurbishment. Our areas of expertise include:

  • Design Engineering, safety analysis and assessment
  • On-site project management, execution of large-scale engineering programs and projects
  • Implementation of multi-disciplined plant design modifications
  • Technical assessments and emergent troubleshooting /engineering to support refurbishment & operating units
  • Commissioning and system engineering
  • Provision of configuration management and quality assurance services

We are actively recruiting motivated and committed individuals to join our established team at Bruce Site, as Field Team Leads/Project Engineers

 

These positions are located at the Bruce Power Nuclear Generating Station (Tiverton, Ontario, Canada).

 

Bruce Power is located on the shores of Lake Huron between the towns of Kincardine and Port Elgin. This is a region noted for its long sandy beaches, natural beauty and exceptional quality of life. Kincardine and Port Elgin are scenic towns filled with history, culture, and natural beauty, and are in a good proximity to Toronto – Ontario’s capital city.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinating stakeholder reviews of designs
  • Co-ordinating Constructability, Operability and Safety (COM's) review meetings
  • Arranging field walkdowns at all stages of design and construction
  • Preparing and submitting Managed Work Assignment Team (MWAT) applications for assignment of work to appropriate union
  • Co-ordinating with Work Management, supply chain, trades FLM's, engineering, station operations, Safety, waste management, environment and other stakeholders to execute projects from concept through execution, commissioning and Available for Service
  • Ensuring project documentation is updated and issued in passport, content server and records and close out of project
  • For those interested in engineering roles, applicants should hold or be eligible for a Professional Engineering designation in Ontario

Skills / Qualifications

Candidates with the following qualifications are sought:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical/I&C, Human Factors, Nuclear Engineering and/or Engineering Physics, Mathematics/Statistics or Natural Science
  • One to two years of Experience in project management, project engineering, controls, and scheduling
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards is desired, along with a strong understanding of and commitment to meeting superior quality assurance requirements
  • Flexibility to perform work over a wide range of areas for both operating and new facilities
