Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking a Junior Structural / Architectural Designer to join our team in Oakville, ON.


Position Summary

  • The successful candidate will prepare structural / architectural drawings for various mining projects
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) will be considered for this position
  • The candidate will be able to work with flexibility, while maintaining high standards and quality work
  • The applicant must have excellent English communication skills; must be well organized; able to work independently while maintaining close contact at all times with his/her immediate supervisor
  • The candidate will be capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in the use of drafting software and other standard office software is a must

Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in structural / architectural drafting experience
  • Experience in 3D modeling is an asset
  • Able to produce concrete, steel and architectural detail drawings
  • Solid understanding of structural and architectural elements of the projects
  • Knowledge and understanding of Ontario Building Code
  • Knowledge in Russian language is an advantage
  • Must be able to work well within a team environment
  • Must possess strong communication skills and good attitude


AutoCAD test will be mandatory
