Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities




  • Specifically, the Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development of budgets, schedules and reports as well as for the management and coordination of project staff and sub-contractors to ensure cost effective, efficient, safe and timely completion of projects in order to meet and/or exceed client expectations.
  • Acting as Project Manager and technical professional resource for the successful competition of multiple major challenging projects.
  • Acting as a leader and role model in HSE values, policies, procedures and the effective implementation of high HSE standards.
  • Developing plans, designs, and studies that meet the client’s needs and comply with all applicable regulations.
  • Ensuring own individual and team output of resources is completed on time, on budget, and exceeding quality standards.
  • Developing and maintaining communication channels with clients, stake holders, and internal Wood personnel to ensure that work flows smoothly as well as providing first class engineering services.
  • Plan, organize and direct all project activities including design, procurement, scheduling, estimating, cost control, construction, HSE, permitting, start-up and commissioning
  • Lead, manage and co-ordinate communication between multi-disciplinary project teams,  working with other professionals, to deliver high quality projects on time and within budget
  • Appreciating and understanding client’s needs as to provide quality service and earn additional business through proactive relationship building.
  • Constantly utilizing excellent communication and negotiation skills as well as teamwork skills, both leading project groups, and as a contributing proactive member of senior management teams.
  • Mentoring and training of Wood personnel to groom individuals as well as complete project teams to become more prepared to take on additional roles and responsibilities.
  • Gathering up to date information first hand at sites, meeting with clients and constantly monitoring work performances.



Skills / Qualifications


  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Engineering from a recognized university.
  • A minimum of 20 t0 25 years’ experience, preferably in the mining and minerals sector, specifically on how to execute EPCM and EPC projects. Extensive experience in mining, industrial and infrastructure as well as associated processes is favorable.
  • Bi-Lingual in at least Spanish and English at a fluent level for both written and spoken
  • Understanding of standard softwares and management tools related to Planning, Risks, Project Controls and Document control.
  • Ability to develop new, proprietary and innovative solutions to current processes is an asset.
  • Proven track record of successful project completion on time safe and on budget, exceeding expectations.
  • Occasional travel to site may be required
