Overview / Responsibilities

Wood's Environment & Infrastructure Solutions Group is currently seeking an Heavy Equipment Operators for a large capital construction project in the Port Granby area.


We are seeking candidates local to the Clarington, Ontario area.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain Excavator and do daily inspections
  • Keep and record a daily log of excavator condition
  • Learn and able to use the GPS grading system
  • Available to help out with other positions as needed (truck driver, dozer,etc.)
  • Take part and participate in safety program
  • Keep the onsite mechanic up to date on needed repairs of equipment

Skills / Qualifications

  • Must have 3 years plus EXPERIENCE in operating heavy equipment.
  • Experience in WHMIS, Health & Safety regulations as well as a wide range of skills or trades including grading, drainage, Mass excavation, Grade Control.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Operate Excavator in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, company policies and procedures.
  • Be flexible to support a 6-day a week operation on occasion.
  • Must provide own transportation to and from work.
  • Experience in remediation field a plus
  • Able to wear a respirator (if necessary, training provided)
  • HAZWOPER training a plus
