Overview / Responsibilities

Wood’s Power and Energy business performs consulting and EPCM services for many of Canada’s gas processing, power generation, and power distribution companies.



Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineering, Co-Op Student. Reporting to the Electrical Department Manager of Transmission and Distribution, this position will be located in our Vancouver, BC office. Key Responsibilities

  • Learning and understanding work process flows as well as engineering protocols
  • Preparing simple plans and reports; including, related engineering calculations
  • Carrying out straightforward specifications under the supervision and guidance of senior personnel
  • Assisting more experienced technical personnel with specific aspects of project work
  • Providing support to as well as developing and establishing communication with internal Wood personnel in order to ensure that work flows smoothly


Skills / Qualifications

  • Successful completion of at least third year of an undergraduate degree program in Electrical Engineering – Power option
  • Experience and knowledge of engineering design packages such as AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with Google Earth, Visual Basic, or XML
