Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Mining & Minerals is currently recruiting for a Global Strategy and Development Coordinator, someone who can provide a  broad, range of administrative and creative support for the global Mining & Minerals strategy, marketing and business development team.


Reporting to the VP, Global Business Development and the Director of Global Strategy and Development Services, you are a creative self-thinker-doer and possess fantastic interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; you are someone who thrives on working in a challenging and fast-paced environment. 


Ideal role for a highly motivated self-starter; the Global S&D Coordinator will craft near complete letters/emails, presentations, white-papers, meeting and event plans and other senior management level reports and documents based on (at times) minimal direction.

The nature of the work as part of our virtual global S&D team, requires you to be equally comfortable working alone or with a team (in person or virtually), with the ability to interact and extract information with multiple levels of operations and management within Mining & Minerals, and requires flexible hours as required to suit the global needs of the organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage/coordinate multiple projects simultaneously without close supervision
  • Track the status of documents and tasks executed at the Global S&D level and report status with the global team
  • Create documents with at times minimal direction, including letters, emails and PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, strategy white-papers, etc.
  • Edit, advance/complete and proofread documents drafted by the VP and Director
  • Develop suggested distribution lists for approval and ensure timely distribution
  • Set up meetings (virtual and/or physical), monitor acceptance, expedite responses and coordinate the completion of the meetings and any required presentations and relevant documentation, physical meeting venue and supply requirements
  • Provide assistance with marketing campaigns and list management; aptitude for and willingness to learn advanced CRM skills
  • Provide coordination and support for Marketing events, conferences and webinars (reservations, RSVP tracking, communication with internal staff, vendors)
  • Expedite collection S&D performance metrics data from the global team including Bid/No Bid, CRB, proposal submittal and in-process tracking, win/loss rates and debriefs and development of S&D performance metrics reports for Wood corporate level racking purposes
  • Provide content for Mining & Minerals website updates to our Communications team
  • Coordinate the development, printing, storage and distribution of marketing materials to support global S&D requirements and specific proposals requiring Global BD involvement
  • Coordinate the use of the Wood Mining & Minerals exhibition booth at the scheduled global conferences and events including maintenance, storage, structural and graphic updating, shipping, monitoring, return and inspection of readiness for the next deployment
  • Manage the contracting for booth space and other required services for conferences in North America; management in other locations will be handled by others

Skills / Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in relevant subject and/or solid 5-7 years’ relevant experience
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and strong working knowledge of CRM
  • Basic/advanced business writing skills are critical; Graphic design experience is desired
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms
  • Capable of performing a full range of administrative support duties for Global Mining & Minerals S&D as generally described above
  • Meticulous at task management and execution excellence
  • Eager to learn new skills, easily adapts to changing environments and multiple competing demands and is experienced in working with team members in varying geographical locations
  • Demonstrates the highest level of personal integrity, professionalism, time management, work ethic and customer service for internal customers
