Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking an Industrial Water / Wastewater Engineer to join our Industrial Water and Wastewater engineering practice. This position will sit ideally in our Cambridge, ON office, but provision can be made for London, Burlington, Mississauga or Richmond Hill, ON.

 

As an Industrial Water/Wastewater Engineer you will report to the Group Lead, Water Process Engineering. The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced Engineer who is looking to innovate cutting edge industrial water and wastewater projects. Our industrial water & wastewater project teams work across a wide array of industrial sectors including food and beverage, metal finishing, chemical manufacturing and mining and minerals.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Process engineering design of industrial wastewater treatment systems, including development of:
    • Project reports
    • Engineering drawings
    • Technical specifications
  • Project management:
    • Planning and implementing industrial water and wastewater projects
    • Budget and schedule management
    • Quality assurance and client satisfaction using our internal QMS procedures
  • Management of project teams:
    • Project work plan development and scheduling
    • Project staffing
  • Manage deliverables in accordance with quality management systems and company standards
  • Field work and on-site assessments including:
    • Lab and field treatability testing
    • Troubleshooting evaluation
    • Training
    • Contractor oversight
    • Commissioning assistance
  • Business development:
    • Developing new clients through proposal preparation and client outreach
    • Prepare business development plans for new clients
    • Ensuring repeat business from existing clients thorough client feedback and proposal preparation

Skills / Qualifications

  • Engineering degree (BSc.) (civil, chemical, or environmental)
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario.
  • 8+ years consulting experience in industrial water and wastewater systems
  • Experienced in a wide array of industrial sectors is an asset.
  • Familiarity with MOECC regulations.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Design project management experience
  • Able to work on geographically and technically diverse project teams
  • Strong business development skills, including significant experience building and maintaining productive relationships with a client base
  • Ability to work under tight timelines while managing multiple project tasks
  • Valid driver’s license
