Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant with significant experience in Mine Water Quality to join our dynamic mining environmental team in Mississauga, Ontario. Ideal candidates will have a career focused on mine water quality management, with 15 or more years of hands-on, progressive experience, and a Masters or Undergraduate degree in an appropriate discipline (engineering or science).


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop mine site water quality management approaches and conceptual designs to help ensure regulatory success
  • Interpretation of water quality data / mine water treatment system performance
  • Prepare documentation for Federal and Provincial mining environmental assessments / environmental approvals, predominantly in Ontario
  • Liaise with clients and engineering teams to assist with their treatment plans and designs including in support of engineering studies
  • Produce written reports and present findings as appropriate

Skills / Qualifications

  • Career focused on mine site water quality management (environmental approvals, conceptual design and water quality interpretation)
  • Direct, hands-on experience with the Ontario and Federal regulatory regimes and environmental approvals processes applicable to mining
  • Exceptional communicator (both written and verbal) in English
  • Proven professional judgement and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic and time management skills / ability to work to deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical and/or environmental engineering or equivalent; Master's degree is a plus
  • Valid Ontario driver's license
