Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Junior / Intermediate Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Group in Burlington, ON.


Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake preliminary and detail engineering design work for municipal rural or urban roads, MTO kings highway/freeway and transit improvement projects, including Design Build and P3 Delivery
  • Prepare geometric, grading and drainage designs using roadway design software
  • Coordinate project drawing and roadway design preparation with project managers, Senior CAD staff and others
  • Prepare tender documents
  • Liaise and coordinate with multiple project team disciplines
  • Identify utility conflicts and coordinate utility relocations
  • Ensure that the projects' needs are met in a timely and effective manner
  • Assure delivery of high quality products
  • Undertake construction liaison
  • Liaise with clients and agencies
  • Assist in preparing proposals and project presentations

Skills / Qualifications

  • B.Sc. in Civil Engineering
  • Familiar with the use of some or all key software applications including AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, Autodesk, InRoads, MTO and GDSOH design standards and guides and other road design software
  • Registered or eligible for registration with PEO
  • Strong organizational skills along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments
  • Strong communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities
  • A willingness to work in a team atmosphere
