Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking an Intermediate Transportation Engineer/Planner to join our Transportation Group in Burlington, ON to support our Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Team.


Key Responsibilities  

  • Client, stakeholder, agency and public liaison
  • Coordination with various supporting disciplines (traffic, structural, water resources, natural sciences, etc.), Project Managers and CAD staff
  • Development and assessment of alternative planning solutions and designs
  • Preparation of preliminary geometric, grading and drainage designs for arterial roads and transit systems
  • Working to ensure projects needs are met in a timely and effective manner
  • Production of high quality written reports and drawing packages
  • Assistance in preparing Feasibility Studies, ESRs, proposals and project presentations

Skills / Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in the transportation field
  • Familiar with the use of some or all key software applications including AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and InRoads
  • Familiar with applicable roadway design standards, including TAC Geometric Design Guide and MTO Roadside Design Manual
  • Registered or eligible for registration with PEO
  • Strong organizational skills along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments
  • Strong communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities – all projects involve work with the public
  • A willingness to work in a team atmosphere
