  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently recruiting for an Intermediate Acoustics & Vibration Engineer/Specialist to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario.


    Key Responsibilities


    The successful candidate would be expected to assume the following responsibilities and activities in this position:


    • Noise and Vibration Measurements and Monitoring
    • Noise and Vibration Data Analysis
    • Architectural Acoustic Modelling / Prediction
    • Environmental Noise Modeling / Prediction (Industrial, Roads, Rail, etc.)
    • Vibration modelling / Prediction (Construction, Blasting, Structures, etc.)
    • Working under the direction of senior engineers to support project work
    • Other responsibilities/activities as required to support project work
    • Technical Report Preparation
    • Extensive travel may be required, including travel to remote locations on occasion

    Skills / Qualifications

    Desired Qualifications and Education


    • A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in acoustics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics or an equivalent or related discipline
    • Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario would be an asset

    Desired Experience


    • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience (Candidates with less experience will be considered if their academic qualifications or previous work experience demonstrate a solid foundation in acoustics and/or vibration. Those candidates will be required to provide a copy of their academic transcripts along with their resume.)

    Desired Skills


    • Ability to review and understand engineering drawings and specifications
    • Strong grasp of engineering principles and good mechanical aptitude
    • Able to prioritize and balance the needs of multiple projects/clients
    • Ability to deliver quality technical work on schedules and on budget
    • Motivated and enthusiastic learner with the ability to work independently as well as contribute to teams
    • Strong understanding of Ontario noise and vibration regulatory requirements and guidelines
    • Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written (competency in French would be an asset)
    • The candidate must have a valid driver’s license and their own vehicle
    • Ability to professionally interact and work with colleagues, suppliers and clients
