Overview / Responsibilities

Wood’s Mining & Minerals business performs consulting and EPCM services for many of the world’s leading mining companies and is executing world-class projects on five continents. 

 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Structural Engineer. Reporting the Manager, Civil/Structural & Architectural, this position is located in our Saskatoon, Saskatchewan office. Key Responsibilities

 

  • Provide structural design and technical support including calculations, weld design, design drawing review, field investigations, and solutions for the construction or repair of industrial buildings, facilities and services
  • Write specifications and contract documents
  • Review project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation; including checking for technical accuracy
  • Develop and maintain positive, sustainable client relationships
  • Demonstrate effective organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks independently, and as part of a team
  • Coordinate and work with project team members 

Skills / Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering
  • Registered or eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) in the province of Saskatchewan
  • Broad scope knowledge of structural designs and an understanding of industry codes, standards and construction methods
  • Material design experience, which may include experience in the use of structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and/or wood
  • Minimum 5 years experience working on mining and/or heavy industrial projects is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team-oriented and a creative thinking
  • Demonstrated abilities in cooperation and decision making
