  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a bilingual Senior Recruitment Specialist who is consultative and professional, and who possesses engineering consulting or commercial construction recruiting experience. This is a very hands-on, high energy position requiring an individual to be extremely motivated and results-driven.

     

    The successful candidate will be responsible to take ownership of full life cycle recruitment process ‘cradle to grave’ including but not limited to workforce planning, advising hiring managers on most strategic approach to fill open positions including job description content, candidate sourcing, and scheduling interviews. Candidate should be a dynamic, self-motivated, professional recruiter with extensive recruitment experience and with the ability to multitask efficiently.

     

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions provides a full range of services to customers in the government, industrial, mining, power/energy, transportation, pharmaceutical, water, and oil & gas sectors. Although each recruiter manages his/her own desk in different locations across North America, we are part of a bigger HR team who is very closely connected.  

     

    Location:

    Work location is open to any Wood E&IS office location in Canada. This position supports our offices in Western Canada and Québec.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage all aspects of the recruiting process for a portfolio of multi-level positions servicing multiple Hiring Managers located in several locations on a daily basis and using various sourcing strategies to recruit candidates
    • Develop and execute cost-effective and creative sourcing strategies that meet the immediate and future needs of the business and produce diverse applicant pools
    • Build and maintain network of potential passive and active candidates through pro-active sourcing and networking; conduct in-depth interviews and assessments of potential candidates
    • Maintain accurate and well-ordered documentation on all candidates, searches and recruiting activities and accurate utilization of Applicant Tracking System according to standards
    • Work cooperatively with all members of the Recruiting team to develop and implement plans and activities
    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with hiring managers to create a partnership that produces results and builds credibility

    Skills / Qualifications

    • 7+ years of experience in full lifecycle recruiting; Agency recruiting experience an asset
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related field preferred
    • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), and ability to engage with candidates and internal clients in both official languages of Canada (French and English)
    • Proficient in utilizing an Applicant Tracking System for sourcing, tracking and managing candidates
    • Must have proficiency in all recruiting lifecycle components, including sourcing, qualifying, networking, assessing, offer negotiation, and closing
    • Strong proficiency in consulting with hiring managers, leveraging recruiting experience to influence hiring decisions
    • It is expected that candidates be experienced in recruitment in several of the following areas:
      • Consulting Engineering: Mining, Power & Process, Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental, Water Resources, Industrial Engineers, Geologists, etc.
      • Scientists in the biophysical sciences area including: Biologists, Ecologists, Hydrogeologists, Archaeologists, Chemists, Biologists, Toxicologists, etc.
