  • Overview / Responsibilities

    To support rapid expansion of the Quebec unit, Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking to fill a junior or intermediate Civil Draftsperson/CAD Technician position for the Dorval office.


    The successful applicant will be trained on the job to develop a strong understanding of civil design principles in the areas of earthworks and mine infrastructure, hydrology and geotechnical engineering. They will be working closely with senior CAD designers and will have the opportunity to learn or develop skills in Civil3D/AutoCAD and other design software.




    • Use of AutoCAD software to produce a variety of geotechnical and environmental engineering plans, diagrams and presentation materials in close collaboration with Project managers to meet external customers’ needs
    • Quantity estimation and design calculations, 3D modeling, cartographic/mapping analysis
    • Prioritize work and ensure process and presentation follow company standards
    • Ensure all plans and charts are compliant with technical standards
    • Work closely with other engineers and drafters in a team environment to achieve project targets

    Skills / Qualifications

    Technical Abilities

    • Solid knowledge of Civil3D/AutoCAD software is required
    • Knowledge of ArcGIS, Geotec, gINTor other civil design packages is considered an asset
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is required


    • Recognized Diploma in Civil Engineering, or other diploma supplemented with practical wok experience
    • 3-5 years relevant work experience
    • Good organizational skills with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Attention to detail, strong concentration and the ability to multitask are essential
    • Be creative, original, and able to provide timely solutions
    • A positive attitude, good team spirit and strong interpersonal skills
    • Strong French (written and spoken); bilingualism (French and English) and asset
