  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solution provides specialized air quality services to a wide variety of industries. We have an immediate opening for an Intermediate Air Quality Engineer or Scientist to join our Mississauga team. In this role you will support air dispersion modelling, air permitting, air contaminant preparation, greenhouse gas emission inventories.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Compiling air quality and meteorological data, statistical analyses, interpretation, and reporting
    • Preparation of management plans for nuisance dust or odour
    • Estimating air contaminant and greenhouse gas emissions from industrial facilities, mining operations, infrastructure projects
    • Air dispersion modelling
    • NPRI and TRA reporting and other aspect of air quality management support
    • Potential for field work, mainly site visits for initial site assessments and inventory of sources of air emissions
    • Preparation of technical reports

    Skills / Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related Environmental Sciences
    • Three to Five years of related experience
    • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or eligible for licensure in Ontario is preferred
    • Knowledge of AERMOD program, ECA applications and EASR registration
    • An understanding of atmospheric science, chemistry, and air pollution control technologies
    • Experience preparing emission inventories, and air dispersion modelling and writing reports
    • Strong knowledge of the provincial and federal air quality regulations and guidance documents
    • Experience conducting ambient air quality monitoring field work and report preparation
    • Experience with estimation of emission rates and air dispersion modelling of stationary and mobile emission sources using AERMOD modelling program is preferred
    • Experience with Emission Summary and Dispersion Modelling Reports in Ontario is an asset
    • General understanding of Ontario air quality regulatory requirement and guidelines
    • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
    • Ability to travel necessary for site work (travel would be within Ontario)
    • A valid drivers license with a clean drivers abstract
