  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking an Intermediate Environmental Technician. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career and work on a unique and exciting environmental remediation project in the Port Hope, ON area.


    This position will provide support to our dynamic health & safety and environment team by conducting a wide range of environmental assessments and remediation assignments through field investigation, report writing and remedial activities.


    Key Responsibilities


    • Site-field work, conducting and monitoring field activities
    • Technical writing, assisting with report writing, project plan revisions, compliance audit documentation
    • Recording key field data
    • Monitor air quality by conducting real time air quality monitoring using air monitoring equipment
    • Occasional physical work; including general labor, hand digging, moving pumps and hoses, heavy lifting
    • Cross functional training to perform other roles onsite, as needed; security kiosk, sediment and erosion control crew, spills response etc.

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Must have 2-5 years’ experience working in the environmental field as a Field Technician
    • University Degree or College Diploma in a relevant Environmental discipline
    • Geoscientist in Training (GIT) or Environmental Professional (EP or EPt) preferred
    • Able to work 12+hour days outdoors in all weather conditions
    • Must be able to wear SCBA, full and half-face respirator
    • Experience with MultiRAE / GasTec devices a plus
    • HAZWOPER training a plus
    • SCBA training a plus
    • Technical writing experience a plus
    • Experience working with environmental regulators a plus
