  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our Mining & Minerals team in Oakville, Ontario who will be trained and apply knowledge for auditing and maintaining compliance with the established procedures in Engineering, Project and Document Controls, Supply Chain Management. The QA Coordinator will plan, schedule and conduct audits, independent evaluation and report to the management about deviations from the standard procedures. 

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Improve reliability and effectiveness of company and office business processes
    • Implement corporate quality management processes, controls and assure compliance with the requirements of corporate and industry standards
    • Planning and conducting random audits of all areas of business to ensure compliance to the ISO9001
    • Identifying corrective actions and ensure closure with effective actions.
    • Report deviation from the standard procedures, identify corrective actions and ensure closure with effective actions.
    • Reporting to Senior Management on the effectiveness of the systems, identifying gaps and developing opportunities for improvement
    • Review products, processes and systems on an ongoing basis to determine where improvements can be made
    • Ensure a cycle of Plan-Do-Check-Act exists and is implemented for all processes
    • Promote at all levels a focus on customer satisfaction and risk awareness & management
    • Test compliance against the quality management standard to ensure meeting stated obligations, customer expectations and regulatory requirements
    • Assist in the creation of project execution plans and customer satisfaction measurement & analysis
    • Assist with implementing appropriate project controls for all company projects
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by management
    • Organize, plans, and coordinate own work

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field, MBA or post graduate degree preferred
    • 3+ years’ quality management experience
    • Familiarity and comfort working in an EPCM Engineering office environment
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
    • Strong written & verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Demonstrable success in innovation and continuous improvement
    • Knowledge and experience in conducting internal project and process audits
    • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 Quality management systems requirements 
    • Excellent written and oral skills
    • Effective communicator and self-starter
    • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and dealing with multiple disciplines
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal team members and external auditors
    • Able to focus priorities to best impact quality metrics
