  • Overview / Responsibilities


    • Experienced in the rehabilitation design of flexural and shear reinforcing of concrete structures. Must demonstrate reinforcing experience for one way slabs, two-way slabs, beams, girders, columns, and footings.        
    • Demonstrate experience using FRP reinforcement and post tensioning in rehabilitation design
    • Experienced with the use of SAP 2000 and ETABS
    • Prepare conceptual and detailed design calculations, layouts, sketches, specifications.
    • Provide input to feasibility studies, design criteria, reports, preliminary design and engineering specifications.
    • Investigate field and design problems and prepare reports.
    • Liaison with Client, Authorities, Contractors.
    • Site visits and inspections.
    • Supervise and lead civil/structural project team(s), monitoring progress and issue of deliverables and reporting on performance of the team.
    • Preparation of Studies, Design Criteria, and Quantity Estimates.
    • Contribute to preparation of proposals and man-hour estimates.
    • Promote the achievement of the Project Core Expectations.
    • Develop and implement Project Engineering Procedures.
    • Develop and promote Engineering Safety in Design initiatives.
    • Actively promote an emphasis on Safety
    •  Create a professionally challenging work environment for team members
    • Coordinate all requirements for the related project with other disciplines.


    Skills / Qualifications

    • Structural Engineer with over 10 years of relevant experience in the consulting industry and P.Eng registration in Ontario.
    • Previous North American experience required. Knowledge of international codes beneficial.
    • Industrial facility design experience required.
    • Must be able to demonstrate effective organizational skills working as a Senior Structural Engineer.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with clients and staff in a team environment as well as independently.
    • Clear demonstrative experience with all phases of a project cycle.
    • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
