    Wood perform consulting and EPCM services for many of North America’s power generation, and power distribution companies. 

     

    Wood currently has an exciting opportunity in Supply Chain Management (Procurement & Contracts Administration). Reporting to the Manager, Project Services, this position is located in our Vancouver office, and supports Wood project teams in our Transmission & Distribution business. This role is responsible for key supply chain management support to program purchasing and project sub-contracting. Ensuring the completion of key milestones/objectives, minimizes commercial risks, emphasizes safety, enhances competitive advantage and meets customer expectations, always in strict accordance with Wood Supply Chain Code of Business conduct.     • Work closely with the project team and client’s representatives.
    • Contribute to the contracting strategy development, package development and a contracting implementation plan
    • Prepare, issue and obtain approval of the tenderer list for the specific contract packages
    • Prepare tender documents from generic templates, meeting the project and individual package requirements and launch the Requests for Tender
    • Manage all clarifications and pre-close correspondence
    • Receive tenders, proceed with the analysis and manage internal and external communication
    • Conduct bid evaluation process with the project manager and owner when reviewing proposals and recommending award
    • Attend and lead negotiations with selected tenderers and prepare commercial recommendations for contract award
    • Conform and issue contract documents for signature
    • Analyze compensation requests and progress payment
    • Strictly control modifications to the contracts, negotiating requests for modifications, claims and litigation, if necessary
    • Coordinate the close-out of contracts, including submittal of deliverables and performance assessment
    • Commit purchase orders and maintaining controls to monitor supplier performance and conformance to commercial terms
    • Participating in supplier negotiations regarding commercial terms & conditions for purchase of equipment and bulk materials
    • Updating and maintaining procurement plans
    • Developing and maintaining Request for Quotations (RFQ's) and Purchase Orders (PO's)
    • Expediting vendor data and material delivery

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in construction purchasing and contract administration
    • Experience with Power Transmission & Distribution Projects, and BC Hydro, is desirable
    • Proactive, confident approach to Supply Chain Management
    • Excellent proficiency in the English language (spoken and written)
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Highly developed time management and organizational skills
    • Understanding of contract styles; lump sum, unit rate, etc.
    • Thorough knowledge and experience with British Columbia and other tax jurisdictions regarding the tax applicability (PST,HST, GST) to materials and labour
    • Proven track record of maintaining high quality standards while working within tight deadlines
    • Demonstrated ability in the negotiation of contracts and commercial terms and conditions
    • Leadership, team spirit, and ability to find solutions to work-related problems
    • Ability to professionally represent company at intermediate levels
