    Wood Environment &Infrastructure Solutions is currently recruiting for Intermediate Civil Engineers to join our team in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to further develop their career in civil engineering and to work under the mentorship of an experienced team on unique and exciting projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage civil and multidisciplinary projects for the mining industry; including managing resources, budgets and schedules
    • Management of a construction team on a mining site
    • Provide civil engineering and design support on a wide variety of projects, including plans and specifications for dams (and other geotechnical structures), mining infrastructure, tailings
    • Duties will include the development of plans, construction drawings, specifications, design computations, reports and construction documents
    • Technically involved in detailed design work, coordination of civil and non-civil designs on multi-disciplinary projects, as well as resolution of design issues that may include performing field investigations
    • Maintain and develop relationships with new and existing clients
    • Work closely with engineers and designers in a team environment to successfully deliver the project objectives
    • Construction monitoring and reporting on projects
    • Field and office engineering duties through all phases of investigation, design, and construction review
    • Preparation of high quality technical proposals and reports

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Mining Engineering; Post-graduate degrees such as an M.Sc Eng would be preferable
    • Currently registered with OIQ;
    • 5 to 10 year’s relevant consulting experience, supporting projects in the mining sector; Practical engineering experience in tailings or dam design a strong asset
    • Experience managing multiple projects at a time, assigning work to intermediate and junior professionals as appropriate to level of complexity of work and level of competence of the team
    • Experience with GIS, Global Mapper, ARC GIS an asset
    • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
    • French is necessary, Bilingualism is a strong asset
    • Excellent time management skills, with the demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time, deliver on time and on budget
    • Desire to provide excellent practical client service and a commitment to technical excellence
    • Ability and desire to supervise in a challenging local/regional market consulting practice
    • Valid Driver’s License
