  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood’s Infrastructure business unit currently has an exciting opportunity for Intermediate Structural Design Technologist based in our Burnaby office. In this position, you will work within our dedicated Infrastructure group in preparing design drawings for marine, transportation and other infrastructure projects. You will also have an opportunity to interface with other specialists on large multi-discipline projects located both locally and internationally.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Preparing conceptual and detailed drawings for marine and transportation projects
    • Coordinating work with project managers, engineers, CAD staff and other disciplines
    • Ensuring that projects’ needs are met in a timely, effective manner

    Skills / Qualifications

    • A registered Structural Technologist or Structural Technician diploma
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with AutoCAD, preferably on marine and transportation projects
    • Experience and familiarity with structural concrete details, structural steel details, standard steel call outs and terminology
    • Familiarity with both steel and reinforced concrete CAD work
    • Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
    • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and work within a team atmosphere
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Experience and familiarity with load calculations would also be beneficial
