  • Overview / Responsibilities

    General Role

    Wood is seeking a motivated professional to join our Calgary proposal team. This is a pivotal role that is focused on the production of high-quality proposals that contribute to the organization’s success and growth in the region. 


    • Business Development Responses: Responsible for coordinating Wood’s responses to business development opportunities, including initial pursuits of prospects, requests for information, solicitation of interests, pre-qualifications, and requests for proposals.  Proposal coordination responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
      • Develop the proposal responsibility matrix and proposal schedule per the client timeline requirements and considering internal proposal process and review gates
      • Coordinate internal proposal kick-off and review meetings as needed
      • Assist in developing the proposal win strategy, value proposition and executive summary
      • Coordinate and expedite the information necessary to develop a quality proposal response
      • Coordinate proposal data entry, formatting, editing, reviews, reproduction and delivery
      • Interface with key internal stakeholders and clients as necessary, to execute the proposal process
      • Assist in developing sales, marketing, and technical information for proposal use including brochures, project profiles, case studies and presentations.
      • Assist in developing proposal resources (resumes, presentations, boilerplate, etc.)
      • Ensure overall compliance with applicable client requests and requirements
      • Compliance with global and local proposal and branding procedures and guidelines
      • Assist in tracking and reporting opportunities/proposals


    • Proposal Management Reviews: Assist in the preparation and scheduling of technical and commercial proposal reviews, including red team and management reviews.

    Skills / Qualifications


    • Experience
    • Minimum five years working with proposals in an EPC(m) environment
    • Oil and gas industry experience
    • Technical and/or engineering experience (not required, but helpful)
    • Education
    • S. or B.A. in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related majors preferred
    • Skills
    • Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and presentation skills
    • Strong organizational, coordination, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
    • Strong time management skills
    • Attention to details
    • Good understanding and implementation of industry best practices for proposals
    • Strong proofreading, editing and business software skills (style, format, grammar, etc.)
    • Experience in marketing techniques (layout, graphics, value proposition) preferred
    • Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Visio
    • Experience using Adobe InDesign software for the creation of brochures, project profiles, executive summaries and graphics required for proposals
    • Registration with APMP is a plus
    • Working knowledge of CRM is a plus
