  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking an Intermediate/Senior Geotechnical Technologist to join our team in Fort McMurray, AB.


    Key Responsibilities


    • Promote safety culture by ensuring site specific HSE policies and safety standard procedures are adhered to
    • Monitor geotechnical drilling, instrumentation installations, and core sample collections
    • Sample management duties will include receiving samples, sample logistics and scheduling, testing preparation, and completion of project file documents
    • Laboratory testing using test methods such as CSA, ASTM, OPSS for soils, aggregates, concrete and construction materials
    • Report writing of field and laboratory results

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Geological, Construction or Civil Engineering Technology Diploma or similar work experience
    • Geotechnical Drilling experience, specifically with the installation of geotechnical instruments
    • Experience working in the Alberta Oil Sands region
    • Materials Testing Experience
    • Previous experience 5-10 years
    • Laboratory testing experience
    • Knowledge CSA, ASTM, and Provincial Test Methods
    • Detail oriented
    • Organized
    • Team oriented
    • Self-Motivated
