    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Ports & Marine Structural Engineer to join our Burnaby, BC team.  


    As a Senior Ports & Marine Structural Engineer you will be responsible for the structural design of marine and port project across the globe. The position will help us grow our successful Ports and Marine business and to strengthen our structural design team by leading and delivering diverse projects.


    Key Responsibilities


    • Prepare proposals, responses to RFPs and to assist in business development
    • In-depth experience and knowledge of analysis, design and detailing of steel, concrete and timber structures
    • Proficiency in use of structural analysis and design software
    • Work closely with other discipline engineers and project managers as part of a multidisciplinary project delivery team
    • Lead the structural design of marine infrastructure including docks, jetties, trestles, berthing and mooring dolphins
    • Lead technical design staff and oversee projects
    • Preparation of technical reports, specifications and tender documents
    • Ensure that all structural engineering deliverables comply with applicable international codes and standards
    • Ensure all project documentation and deliverables are reviewed in accordance with corporate quality management procedures
    • Provide construction services support, including documented field reviews, review of shop drawings, site visits, condition assessments, inspections and RFI response
    • Work closely with geotechnical engineers and review geotechnical subsurface investigation reports and use information to prepare structural design recommendations

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural engineering
    • P.Eng designation or the ability to obtain a P.Eng within one year
    • 10 to 15 years of experience in civil, structural engineering in a marine environment
