  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Woods Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is hiring a Production Manager to join our Atlantic Canada business based in Dartmouth, NS.  As a Production Manager you will ensure projects deliver on time and budget and meet client expectations as well respond to identified risks and assure quality of product delivered.

     

    Position Summary

     

    As the Production Manager you will work closely with the Operations Manager and Project Managers to ensure project deliverables are executed to achieve the contract requirements to the Wood quality management standard. Provide guidance and mentorship to the project team in support of the project manager. Provide reporting to the Operations Manager on resource loading and subcontractor/contractor requirements to support projects.

     

    Key Responsibilities

     

    Essential Tasks and Responsibilities (Technical):

    • Performs or oversees analyses for highly complex engineering projects; Demonstrates competency in a combination of areas including field supervision, technical knowledge, and project management
    • Support Wood project managers
    • Manage delivery of active projects (Microsoft Project)
    • Manage Wood resources and subconsultants
    • Identify and manage risk
    • Manage and assure quality of production
    • Support change management – change order creation & approval
    • Manage project closeout – A project washup
    • Chair a weekly production meeting
    • Generate a weekly production action list

    Additional Tasks and Responsibilities (Technical):

    • May have direct staff management responsibilities, including performance management, career development and mentoring
    • May included in a project team to provide technical support in their specific area of expertise
    • May be asked to provide assistance with business development opportunity and client interface
    • Other duties as assigned

    Essential Tasks and Responsibilities (Operational):

    • Develops broad objectives and plans related to conduct of their specific function, including short, medium, and longer-term objectives that tie into those of the Atlantic Provinces operations
    • Ability to identify and evaluate matters which may have a major impact to the area/department/group, or the overall business
    • Interprets and applies organization policies; recommends, revises or develops new processes, policies, procedures, etc.
    • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to efficiently plan and coordinate the efforts of an area/department, typically through subordinate managers/supervisors, in order to ensure desired results are achieved

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Secondary education diploma
    • Proficiency in PDMS & Navisworks
    • Skilled at facility layout, producing detailed designs of complex systems and coordination and model administration of multi-discipline design and construction teams
    • Minimum 20 years related experience
