  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant in its North American Shared Services department

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Cash Management responsibilities:
      • Initiate wire payments, transfers and tax payments on banking website
      • Reporting for all on-line payments
      • Handle businesses and customers banking queries and issues
      • Administration of bank accounts – opening/amending/closing accounts and other required banking documentation
      • Assist auditors with year-end bank confirmations
      • Assist with yearly cash reporting
      • Weekly cash forecasting 
    • General Accounting responsibilities:
      • General ledger account reconciliations, analysis and reporting
      • Weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
      • Monthly intra-charge calculations and entry
      • Assist with monthly close process of ERP
      • Assistance with internal and external audit request
      • Ad Hoc accounting analysis

    Skills / Qualifications

    • College/University commerce degree and working toward a professional Accounting Designation (CPA)
    • 2-8 years of general accounting experience required
    • Cash accounting &forecasting experience is an asset
    • Highly organized and detailed oriented with thorough follow up skills
    • Good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
    • Team oriented and willingness to learn and work occasional overtime
    • Adaptable to change and to accept new responsibilities within the context of the position
    • Various accounting systems experience an asset
