  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Planner with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.


    Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

    • Delivering planning services in a safe, timely and cost effective manner, in line with contractual requirements, to the satisfaction of company and client.
    • Maintaining planning control structures in alignment with the approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
    • Regularly measuring and reporting progress and productivity.
    • Developing level 2, 3 & 4 multi-discipline/trade detail schedules via Primavera software.
    • Developing, updating, and maintaining plans, interfaced with Wood’s reporting systems for issue to Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Clients.
    • Analyzing and communicating schedule impacts of change notices.
    • Monitoring overall project progress status, achievement of major milestones, and project performance in relation to the baseline.
    • Providing recommendations in order to facilitate strategic decisions and identify critical path within the plan and providing corrective action to mitigate potential risks within the schedule.

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Minimum 5 years experience in project planning and scheduling.
    • Experience with Offshore Oil and Gas is preferred but not essential.
    • Excellent communication, problem solving, and organization skills.
    • A Technical Diploma, Business/Commerce Degree, or an Engineering Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution. Engineers must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
    • Excellent computer skills with emphasis on Primavera P6 and MS Excel.
    • Excellent understanding of planning principles and techniques, and good understanding of project change control.
