  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is recruiting for a Buildings Lead to join our Environment & Infrastructure Solutions group based out of either Burlington, London OR Cambridge, Ontario.   As the Lead Structural Engineer you will lead the planning and design of various structures; highway; transit; rail & buildings.


     Key Responsibilities


    • Business development, including identifying and developing bid opportunities, managing client relationships and attending industry events
    • Supervising designers and technical staff, addressing staffing needs and issues, responding to proposals
    • Managing the structural task of multi-discipline projects, consisting of developing structure rehabilitation or replacement strategies, completing structural analysis, design for a variety of structures and preparing contract documents and reports
    • Complete structural designs and calculations
    • Preparing and presenting information to clients and the public
    • Effectively communicate with clients, team staff and management
    • Initiate in the development of new business
    • Prepare proposals, cost estimates and tender documents
    • Perform structural condition assessments, inspections and retrofit designs for commercial and industrial facilities

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor Degree in a relevant discipline, Civil Structural Engineering
    • 7+ years of progressive experience with building capabilities in multi-story parking parkades and transit building / rail station work
    • Currently registered as a P.Eng
    • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Experienced in structural analysis and design
    • Experienced in preparation of tender document plans and specifications
