  • Overview / Responsibilities

    • Develop piping drawings starting from conceptual to detailed design stage, to ultimately produce project construction drawings.
    • Completion of piping design for assigned scope.
    • Ensuring all design, analysis, and specifications are in accordance with applicable codes, governing statutory regulations, Wood procedures, and specific design philosophies, while also meeting project objectives and industry best practices.
    • Ensuring all HSEQ requirements are met within the Piping discipline in accordance with Wood procedures and management systems.
    • Responsible for layouts and piping drawings, and integration of procured equipment into design.
    • Locate/model all equipment and piping
    • Participate in design reviews of project and provide technical input.
    • Apply knowledge of North American and Ontario codes, (and others) regulations and standards
    • Work with other design staff to resolve interferences with mechanical equipment and piping, and other disciplines
    • May be required to coordinate the work of others (dependant on seniority)
    • Assist in production of all construction/demolition packages in project
    • Coordinate with all disciplines on routing and space allotment.
    • Select location and types of pipe supports
    • Coordination with various stakeholders including other disciplines, project management team, vendors and clients to facilitate smooth flow
    • There will be no relocation allowance available

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Relevant work experience, preferably in the heavy industrial, and oil and gas, Pharmaceutical is an asset.
    • An equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved will be considered.
    • Recommend having minimum of 10 to 20 years of experience and interdisciplinary coordination
    • Proficiency in the use of 2D &3D modelling platforms such as CaddWorx, AutoCadd 3D PDMS
    • Competent with Revit MEP 2016
    • Needs to be familiar with Brownfield and Greenfield design and construction
    • Needs to be familiar with Process plant design and construction and requirements of such
    • Needs to be able to perform in a high intensity environment
    • Ability to work very closely with client group, and other offices.
    • Needs to recognize safety considerations, and work with client on designing safely.
