  • Overview / Responsibilities

    To support Wood’s seasonal workload, we are currently seeking to fill Field Technician positions for our Calgary or Drumheller Infrastructure office.  In this position you will provide field support to the construction of infrastructure projects within various municipalities in the Southern Alberta Area.   We will consider a range of candidates for these positions including those with construction experience, college or university students or recent graduates from a civil technology program. High school graduates will also be considered.


    Duties and Responsibilities include:


    • Assisting survey crew chiefs with on-site activities; preparing and operating equipment under the direction of the crew chief
    • Documenting and tracking onsite construction activities relating to material delivery for items such as granular and asphalt materials
    • Confirming installed quantities of work and tracking progress for contractor payment

    Skills / Qualifications

    • High school graduate or university/college students; preference given those registered in civil technology or civil engineering programs
    • Ability to work independently on project assignments
    • Construction survey experience is considered an asset
    • Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license
