  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently searching for qualified NDE Technicians & Assistants to work on contract, supporting a variety of projects. Wood's Field Engineering & Inspection Solutions is a business area which is diversifying with several opportunities constantly becoming available.

     

    The NDE Technicians & Assistants opportunities are suited to individuals who are open to an independent contractor employment status. Work will be assigned on a call-out basis.  Ideal candidates will have experience in the Oil & Gas industry, training up to Level II in at least three, but not limited to the traditional NDE certifications (MT, UT, VT, PT, RT). All candidates should have an interest in working on varied project sites across Canada.

     

    Responsibilities: 

    • Responsible for setting up and calibration of equipment, and performing Non-destructive examinations
    • Ensure that the inspections performed are meeting the inspection requirements for detection
    • Evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions
    • Familiarity with the scope and limitations of the method of NDE being utilized
    • Exercise assigned responsibility for on the job training and instructions from site leads
    • Provide timely feedback of inspection results to the Wood Integrity Engineers and site Leads
    • Comply with all Wood, and Client safety procedures that govern the work being performed

     

    Skills / Qualifications

     

    • Technician must be able to provide verification of current Level I / II certification for each method, as per CAN/CSGB-48.9712-2014
    • Upload Certifications along with CV
    • Be fluent in the English language
    • Ability to complete Specific Exams, as required
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • MS Office, including Word, Excel & Outlook
    • Effective communication skills; verbal, written and interpersonal
